Part Eight of Nine: Secondary Essentials

Again, the five essential doctrines of the Christian faith are the deity of Christ, salvation by grace, the Resurrection, the Gospel, and monotheism. Tied to those five essential doctrines are a few secondary essential doctrines, which are the Trinity, Christ is the only way to salvation, the virgin birth, and the authority of the Scriptures. Let’s let God’s Word speak for itself. The Bible does a lot better job than I can.

v19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: [Matthew 28:19 KJV]

v7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. [1 John 5:7 KJV]

v6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. [John 14:6 KJV]

v12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. [Acts 4:12 KJV]

v23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. [Matthew 1:18-25 KJV]

v27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. [Luke 1:26-31 KJV]

v17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. . .[2 Timothy 3:17 KJV]

v17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail. [Luke 16:17 KJV]

These are the secondary essential doctrines. Secondary does not mean that they are less in significance, power, or importance, but only that the first leads to and dictates the second. Example, the deity of Christ leads to the trinity.

Tomorrow we’ll go over some non-essentials doctrines. This will be the last installment in this series. I pray that they are blessing you.
